LEARN MORE ABOUT INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS SHRINK-WRAP PACKAGING

Industrial Shrink-Wrap is the most cost-effective industrial packaging solution today.

This is a bold statement, and we stand by it.

When you’re shipping your product out, or just storing your products for extended periods,  it’s best to get to know the different custom commercial packaging available to you. Depending upon the products you’re choosing to ship out, you might need a variety of different packaging methods to best suit your products. The best solution to get your merchandise out safely and securely is by using shrink-wrap.

Industrial Shrink-Wrap Packaging

Choosing a shrink-wrap for commercial packaging depends on what you need to achieve with your products. A shrink-wrap is a loose film of polyolefin plastic wrapped around the product. Heat is then applied to the product and the wrap shrinks to conform to the product’s size.

The main application for the shrink-wrap is to provide a barrier for cleanliness. So, if you need your products to arrive clean and protected upon arrival, select a shrink-wrap which can protect individual items quickly and efficiently. Manage large loads of products in a short amount of time with this time-saving wrap.

Shrink-wrapping equipment also provides a tamper proof barrier during transit and during sale of items. As an example, washers and dryers are normally transported directly to the consumer in a shrink-wrap to prevent theft as well as damage. If your product requires an individualized packing solution, Ripack USA can work with you for the shrink-wrap you need.

Ripack industrial shrink-wrap is strong, durable, versatile, and low maintenance to provide the ultimate protection in construction projects, weatherization wrapping, and environmental containment applications.

Shrink-wrap usage is very flexible and is often used for many products like food, beverages, industrial parts, bulk cartons and other merchandise. We often see this used in boats and large, bulky industrial products to prevent it from corrosion and humidity.

Generally speaking, a (centerfold) roll of clear shrink film costs (on average) between $100-$250. You would need heat guns and other accessories to apply the shrink-wrap to your item. Depending on the application, Ripack has different products to achieve this cost-effectively and efficiently.

If the way you wrapped the item has left a seam that needs to be sealed before you can continue, use the Ripack heat gun to heat directly along the overlap of the seam to seal the film. Heat the film evenly to shrink it over the rest of the item. Apply heat from the Ripack heat gun evenly around the wrap until it shrinks.

Shrink-wrap is a plastic film that you can wrap around any object, no matter what the size or shape. Heat is then applied to the surface, which causes the plastic to shrink. As it shrinks, it conforms to the shape of your object and seals itself.

Stretch film does not shrink and it cannot be sent through a heat tunnel or used with a heat gun. Shrink-wrap provides much better protection from damage and is generally more cost-effective.

Shrink-wrap, also sometimes called shrink film, is a material made up of polymer plastic film. When heat is applied, it shrinks tightly over whatever it is covering.

In the case of shrinkwrapping, shrink film is used as the basic material and heat forms an important part of the operation.  In the case of stretch wrapping, stretch film is used as the basic material and no heat is applied during the operation.
